Of course! I follow so many artists, extremely talented people, who still appreciate every nice message they get, even though they could just stop caring after they got their 10,000th follower. I think you should be nice to every person you meet, no matter who they are. If not simply to be a decent human being, at least because you never know who they are and how it can turn up for you.
